All guests, including game day staff, ticketed guests, and Duke undergraduate and graduate/professional students are subject to screening before entering Cameron Indoor Stadium. Walk-through metal detectors are used as means of screening. For guests who are unable to utilize a walk-through metal detector, hand-held metal detectors will be used with physical pat-downs as a final alternative option.

Any person who does not consent to screening will be denied entry into the stadium.

Tickets or credentials are required to enter all game day areas. Please be prepared to be checked by event staff as guests approach the screening areas to better the flow of foot traffic.

McClendon Plaza, the Duke Basketball Museum and Athletics Hall of Fame, and Scharf Hall screening areas will open two (2) hours prior to tip-off to encourage ticketed guests to arrive early and enjoy these game day experiences. Where else, the Champions Club Entrance at Rubenstein Pavilion will open 90 minutes prior to tip-off. Guests can also enter directly into Cameron Indoor Stadium one (1) hour prior to tip-off from these areas and no additional screening is required.

Bag Policy

Backpacks and large bags are not permitted – except for medical or childcare reasons. All bags will be inspected prior to entering the stadium. Any such items can be check at game day item check is located at the Scott Family Athletic Performance Center main lobby, located around the corner from the Duke Ticket Office off the Whitford Drive Circe. Item Check opens 2 hours prior to tip-off and closes 1-hour post-game. Please be noted that the owner assumes all risk of any checked items.

For the safety of all in attendance, bags/items are not permitted to be left unattended outside of Cameron Indoor Stadium. Unattended bags/items found outside the stadium will be dealt with in in a manner deemed appropriate by stadium officials, including but not limited to disposal. Duke University and Duke Athletics are not responsible for loss of any unattended items.

Children’s Ticket Policy

Children under two (2) years old do not need a ticket to enter Cameron Indoor Stadium. All children must be accompanied by a ticketed guardian and must be seated on a guardian’s lap. They shall not interfere with the sightlines of other guests.

Code of Conduct

Prohibited behaviors:

  • Interfering with other guests’ ability to enjoy the game
  • Using/displaying foul or abusive language or gestures
  • Appearing to be intoxicated or in a diminished capacity
  • Failing to produce a ticket upon request or sitting in a seat that does not match your ticket
  • Entering the competition or restricted access areas
  • Smoking except in designated areas
    • Designated smoking area at McClendon Plaza is behind Section 13
  • Throwing objects onto the court or within the stadium
  • Otherwise being disorderly

Guests should contact Event Staff or police officer if they feel someone is not acting appropriately inside or outside the stadium. Violators are subject to ejection and possible arrest. Repeated offenses will result in the loss of season or student ticket privileges.

  • Outside food and beverage (exception: medical reasons)
  • Pets (exception: service animals)
  • Selfie Sticks
  • Shoes with wheels
  • Video Cameras
  • Weapons of any kind (including pocket knives)

Duke University reserves the right to deny anyone or anything from entering the stadium. Any of such items should be returned to your vehicle and/or discarded. All guests and items being brought into the stadium are subject to search before entering the stadium.

Re-Entry Policy

Ticketed areas on game day include Cameron Indoor Stadium, McClendon Plaza, the Duke Basketball Museum and Athletics Hall of Fame, and Scharf Hall. Re-entry to the stadium or any game day areas is prohibited. However, in case of emergency, exceptions may be made.
